FishWatch
Trained volunteers collect biological, chemical and human use waterbody data on Copper River drainage tributaries and lakes each season. The goals of FishWatch are to collect baseline fish habitat data on conditions in streams and lakes, to determine the current use levels of boaters and fishers and to look for increases in boat traffic, fishing effort and residential development around selected regions of the Copper River watershed.

Cordova Tourism Plan
The Cordova City Council adopted a community-based tourism plan in October, 2002. By defining what kind of tourism residents want, the community hopes to see tourism develop on a scale that matches the community. Several projects are currently being implemented: a series of interpretive signs for a walking loop, the Cordova Center, and a Copper River Wild! Festival, June 11 - 13, 2004.

Cordova Can Do!
The recycling committee of Cordova has purchased dumpsters specifically for collecting alluminum cans in Cordova. With more collection points and assistance from the city of Cordova in emptying the dumpsters, the recycling committe is creating a recycling system that is convenient for residents and creates revenue for the city and for Cordova's Future Problem Solvers.

Fish Habitat Restoration Projects
We have completed several habitat restoration projects throughout the Copper River watershed to ensure safe and sustainable habitats for spawning and returning salmon.

Copper River Stories
By telling the stories of the Copper River's natural history and of the area's quietly famous local legends, the Copper River Watershed Project and partners --Friends of Kennicott, Wrangell-St. Elias National Park-- will create a series of interpretive projects to help guide tourism growth and celebrate our cultural heritage.
